Pre-project consulting determines the goals and the framework of the future project:

  • Goals and tasks of an enterprise within the project,
  • Functional system modules required to reach defined goals and tasks in the most effecient manner,
  • Volume of implementation efforts required to implement defined functional modules.

Most often the company's management team is interested to prove the cost of system implementation: both license cost and implementation services. Two factors mainly affect implementation efforts: degree of Client's employees participation in the project, and the volume of additional software development efforts required (new interfaces, customizations, etc.). The goal of pre-project consulting is to reveal the value of these two factors before the project begins.

Belsoft-Borlas group provides the following two types of pre-project consulting services:

  1. Express analysis
  2. Detailed analysis

Express analysis

Includes collection of high-level Client business requirements. Information is captured thru interviews with managers and key functional specialists of a company. Express analysis helps to find the optimal system configuration and provides approximate estimation of the implementation efforts required. Experience accumulated by consultants of Borlas Consulting group helps to make the most accurate estimation based on the available data.

Detailed analysis

In addition to the tasks of express analysis, detailed analysis includes business flows inspections and actually represents the first phase of implementation project, executed in accordance to Oracle AIM classis methodology.

During detailed analysis phase the following is done: captured detailed business requirements to each business process, created business process-diagrams, analysed possibilities to realise each of the defined tasks, taking into account priorities of business processes to the Client. Also consultants analyse company's directories and existing automation systems, integration and interfacing issues, training and documentation, project organization, scope and sequence of modules implementation.

A result of detailed analysis phase is a comprehensive document, describing the most important aspects for a Client's business:

  • Functional analysis of the suggested system in the view of existing business processes of a company,
  • Description of the suggested implementation approach and methodology,
  • Description of roles and responsibilities of the project team,
  • Critical success factors, influencing implementation project,
  • Project plan and cost with details.

Detailed analysis allows to estimate implementation time and cost to a high degree of accuracy, but requires bigger efforts to complete that express analysis.
